That's probably about right. It usually comes around the month of my anniversary. Bad timing...

STEAM SUMMER SALE BRO!
![]() 06/02/2014 at 15:39 |

This exact thought is guaranteed to run through my head at least 4 times during the sale:
"Oh, that game is on sale, I wanted to play that game!" *checks library* "Oh, I bought it during last summers sale and never installed it? Why do I even bother...oh look, that other game I don't own is on sale!" *clicks buy now*

Yes. You are preaching to the pope here. I have now... 160 games, I think, in my Steam library. I bet I've given real energy to about 25 of them.

I only have 75 or so, but about the same ratio of real energy. I just got Watch_Dogs last week and have only played it for 2 hours or so, I just don't have time or motivation to play games as much as I used to, but I'll still end up buying a bunch of games during the sale...

I want Watch Dogs so badly. I just don't have any money and I need to play a lot of other games first.I decided two weeks ago to play Assassin's Creed II and III, and I haven't even started up II yet. Plus, I'm really going through iRacing withdrawals.

Wait until watch_dogs goes on sale. In all honesty I've found it underwhelming so far. Neat idea, but it's not engaging me very well. I could be an exception, but I haven't found myself itching to play. My exact thought has been 'I guess I should play some watch_dogs later...but I might just watch a movie'

That's unfortunate, but consistent with what I've heard.

Ok, I'm not gonna lie, people who buy games for like $3 or whatever and don't play them are retards.
I'm sorry but it annoys the shit out of me.
![]() 06/02/2014 at 17:17 |

And why is that, exactly?
![]() 06/02/2014 at 17:19 |

Oh cmon, let's be real here, but I don't understand, don't you ever think "I'm not gonna play this" or "I don't really like this game" before you buy it?
![]() 06/02/2014 at 17:25 |

I've had thoughts like "I might not ever get around to this" before. But I haven't ever regretted those purchases. For example, I bought Bastion a long time before I finally played it, and was super glad I already owned it when I had the craving to play it. There are very few games in my library that I would say won't ever be played. Or, if I don't end up liking that game, I'll be happier paying $5 on sale than $20 at normal price to figure that out. But I wouldn't go buy Farm Simulator for $3, because I'm pretty sure I won't ever really want to play it and that would surely be $3 wasted for me.

Ok so maybe you are not one of those people, but, the second graph on this page is what I mean:

Yeah, I mean I have a bunch of bundles and am never planning on playing a few of those games. I would if I was bored, but I don't get bored. I have the Valve complete pack and there are probably five+ games in there that I'm not likely going to play. People that get Humble Bundles (me) probably leave a couple games untouched. But I think I know what people you mean. The kind who buy something just because it's on sale. I'm not a big fan of that either.

Yeah I have one Humble Bundle that I bought for about $5, because 3 of the 11 games looked good and the rest at least started up and tried, but yeah.

I'm a big fan of the Humble Bundle, and genuinely like playing as many of the games as I can. But I can see how they might easily account for much of that piece of the "unplayed" pie.

It's got an issue that I've had with other games, most notably Fallout: NV
It throws too much at me at once. Fallout 3 is my favorite game ever, and the best example of an open world game done right. They ease you into it, you get a nice quick set of simple missions to get into the world, get into the story, and get a feel for the game. Then once you start exploring it's a nice easy transition into the OMG THERES SO MANY ACTIVITIES phase. New Vegas sort of threw everything in your face within minutes which really turned me off.
Watch_dogs is that way. They give you this 5 minute mission as an intro and then it's pretty much BLAM GO DO THINGS HERES 20 DIFFERENT ACTIVITIES, and the story is just sort of flopped down on you with no background. The ctOS isn't explained really, it's just like here, have this magical cellphone that can hack things.
With how little I play games now I play them largely for the experience and the story, so I need to be engrossed by it. I haven't become engrossed by watch_dogs, and it's been 2 hours or so of gameplay, so the will to actually start it up and play hasn't been there. It might get better, and it's certainly not a bad game it just hasn't sucked me in yet.

It's for the gamers... I guess specifically PC gamers... with Steam...

Love the Fallout series. Haven't played NV, though I have it. But what you're describing sounds like something that turns me off too. I've tried a bunch of MMORPGs (someday there will be an amazing one) and the thing that gets me out quickest is to finish the newbie area with 25 new quests...
I might still like Watch_dogs though. I already know what the ctOS is, so I am a step ahead of the story...
